The Art of Killifish Keeping

Besides being an avid hiker and mountain climber, Douglas Habersaat raises a mean Killifish. When he was in school, his parents let him keep any critter he wanted, as long as it did not attempt to eat their cat. He would go out in the woods and collect interesting insects, reptiles and amphibians. In 1990, he started keeping fish, and won first place in the 1993 San Francisco Aquarium Society annual show for Old World Killifish, Fundulopanchax, F. gardneri (Misaje). He is currently Vice President of the San Francisco Bay Area Killifish Association. Doug is also on the Board of Directors of the Pacific Coast Cichlid Association and currently masters Killifish and Cichlids. Please join us for a lively time this coming Friday when Doug will introduce us to more of his beauties.
